Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972),[1] better known by his stage name Eminem (Stylized EMINƎM), or Slim Shady, is an American rapper, record producer, and actor. Eminem quickly gained popularity in 1999 with his major-label debut album The Slim Shady LP, which won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. The following album, The Marshall Mathers LP, became the fastest-selling solo album in history.[2] It brought Eminem increased popularity, including his own record label, Shady Records, and brought his group project D12 to mainstream recognition.

The Marshall Mathers LP and his third album, The Eminem Show also won Grammy Awards, making Eminem the first artist to win Best Rap Album for three consecutive LP's. He then won the award again in 2010 for his album Relapse, giving him a total of 11 Grammys in his career. In 2002, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Lose Yourself" from the film 8 Mile, in which he also played the lead. "Lose Yourself" would go on to become the longest running #1 hip-hop single.[3] Eminem then went on hiatus after touring in 2005. He released his first album since 2004's Encore, titled Relapse, on May 15, 2009. Eminem is the best-selling artist of the decade,[4] and has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide to date, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world.[5] Eminem was ranked 82nd on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All-Time.[6] He was also named the Best Rapper Ever by Vibe magazine.[7] Including his work with D12, Eminem has achieved eight #1 albums on the Billboard Top 200 and 12 number one singles worldwide. In December, 2009 Eminem was named the Artist of the Decade by Billboard Magazine.[8] His albums The Eminem Show, The Marshall Mathers LP, and Encore (in order) ranked as the 3rd,[9] 7th,[9] and 40th[10] best album of the 2000-2009 decade by Billboard Magazine. According to Billboard, Eminem has two of his albums among the top five highest selling albums of the 2000s. In the UK Eminem is one of the best selling overseas artists ever having sold over 12.5 million records.[11] After the release of his album Relapse Eminem became the best selling rapper of all time.

Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. (born September 27, 1982), better known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is an American rapper. As a teenager, Lil Wayne joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo, The B.G.'z, with B.G.. In 1997, Lil Wayne joined the group Hot Boys, which also included rappers Juvenile, B.G., and Turk. Hot Boys debuted with Get It How U Live! that year. Lil Wayne gained most of his success with the group's major selling album Guerrilla Warfare, released in 1999. Also in 1999, Lil Wayne released his multi-platinum debut album Tha Block Is Hot, selling over two million copies.

Although his next two albums Lights Out (2000) and 500 Degreez (2002) were not as successful (only reaching Gold status), Lil Wayne reached higher popularity in 2004 with Tha Carter, which included the hit single "Go D.J." Wayne also appeared on the Destiny's Child top ten single "Soldier" that year. In 2005, the sequel to Tha Carter, Tha Carter II, was released. In 2006 and 2007, Lil Wayne released several mixtapes and appeared on several popular rap and R&B singles. His most successful album, Tha Carter III, was released in 2008 which went to sell 1.5 million copies in the U.S. its first week of release. It included the number-one single "Lollipop" and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Lil Wayne released his first rock album, Rebirth, in 2010. Critical reception of that album was heavily negative, and the album was released a month before Lil Wayne began serving a year long jail sentence for weapon possession in March 2010.

Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986)[1] is a Canadian actor and recording artist. He originally became known for playing character Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. As a rapper, he performs under the mononym Drake.[2] Drake continued to recognize a close affiliation with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment,[3] before officially signing with the record label in June 2009.[4] His first studio album, Thank Me Later, is expected to be released on the label sometime in 2010.

At only the beginning of his musical career, Drake has already worked with Lil Wayne, Birdman, and Kanye West. He has also worked with hip-hop moguls Eminem and Jay-Z. Smith was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Jamaican parents Geraldine Green and Trevor Smith.[3][4][5][6] Smith's musical career began at the age of 16 as a member of the hip hop crew Leaders of the New School along with fellow Long Island natives Charlie Brown, Dinco D, and Cut Monitor Milo. They began recording in 1989 and released their debut album A Future Without a Past in 1991 on Elektra Records. In 1993, they released T.I.M.E. (The Inner Mind's Eye). Along with his manager, Chaka Zulu, Ludacris is the co-founder of Disturbing tha Peace, an imprint distributed by Def Jam Recordings. Ludacris has sold 17[2] million albums in the United States and 24[3] million records sold worldwide.[4] Ludacris has won the Screen Actors Guild, Critic's Choice, MTV, and Grammy Awards during his career.

Cordozar Calvin Broadus (born October 20, 1971),[1][2] better known by his stage name Snoop Dogg, is a Grammy Award-nominated American rapper, record producer and actor. Snoop is best known as an MC in the West Coast hip hop scene, and for being one of producer Dr. Dre's most notable protégés. Snoop Dogg was a Crip gang member while in high school. Shortly after graduation, he was arrested for cocaine possession and sentenced to three years in prison. His music career began in 1992 after his release when he was discovered by Dr. Dre. He collaborated on several tracks on Dre's solo debut, The Chronic and on the titular theme song to the film Deep Cover.

Snoop's debut album, Doggystyle, was released in 1993 under Death Row Records. Doggystyle went quadruple platinum and spawned several hit singles, including "What's My Name" and "Gin & Juice." In 1996, Snoop Dogg was cleared of charges over his bodyguard's 1993 murder of Philip Woldemariam. His second album, 1996's Tha Doggfather, was his last release for Death Row before he signed with No Limit Records, where he recorded three albums from 1998 to 2001.
